Recruitment Process

At Damco, the recruitment process starts once you have submitted your application online and you have received a written confirmation, both on screen and via email. Below you will find some practical information about our recruitment process.

When reviewing your application, we use a combination of best-practice assessment tools and personal interviews to make sure you are the perfect match for the position you have applied for.  If your application is relevant, you will be invited to participate in two short online assessments in order to try to form an objective picture of your logical capabilities and personal characteristics:

1.  A logical assignment
2.  A person profile

The assessments will provide additional selection criteria in conjunction with your CV in order to shortlist the most relevant candidates. Please note that only short-listed candidates are invited to a personal interview.

Your first interview will probably be conducted by Human Resources and focus on your personal skills and capabilities, as well as motivation and ambition. You will also be given feedback on the online assessment tools as part of this process.

The second interview is normally conducted by the hiring manager – who will also make the final hiring decision – and focuses more on the particular skills and qualities required for the specific position.

In some cases, you may be asked to come in for a third interview, which may be conducted by the relevant Department Head or a peer of your hiring manager.

The entire recruitment process usually takes 4 to 6 weeks, although this can vary depending on location and position. We aim to get back to all applicants as soon as possible, but it is important that we have a chance to review your application carefully. In some cases, applications will only be reviewed once the job ad has expired, so please bear with us if it takes a little longer to respond to you.

Please note, Damco USA Inc. does not utilize assessment tools in the recruitment process for positions located in the United States and Canada.
